Games on FreeBSD (and Linux)
While populating the FreeBSD distfiles mirror, I noticed that some of the biggest tarballs are from games. What this usually means is that, the game is likely to have a large amount of multimedia effects and polish.
I'm surprised, that there are quite a lot of them and they don't look too bad. Although you won't find games/starcraft2 and do a make install clean, they seem to look like they can hold their own in terms of gameplay.Here is a few that I saw scroll by:
- Alien Arena (grab it via apt/ports)
- Another Pool GL
- Battle for Wesnoth
- Scorched Earth 3D
- S.C.O.U.R.G.E
- Spice Trade
- TORCS
- Tremulous
