FOSS Centres

IOSN has always had two large mailings lists, one of which FOSS-PDI http://lists.iosn.net/mailman/listinfo/foss-pdi is a major list for international policy makers. So it's sad to see that none of of them wanted to take over maintenance of this list and just simply disable it. Planet IOSN is also dead.

People and organisations who are not passionate about FOSS should not work at a FOSS centre, or if they are an organisation should not use the name. The reason is that, they're not commercial organisations. If you're at OSCC, you're working for your people, your country. If you're at IOSN you're working to help developing countries.

It's a heavy responsibility, because there is a community that out there that is looking up to your centers for help, the work is endless and the rewards are not monetary.
