An interesting article, he puts the number at around 10. Personally I think it's about 7.
- 5 project specialists, who have cross-practice skills in addition to their core specialisation so that they can bounce ideas, support and build on each other's strengths. Actually 3 is enough for a project, but an additional 2 provides redundancy so that people can take proper vacations, have good life balance and maybe work on other side projects such sabbaticals like 3-6 months working on a project in a developing country or something.
- 1 co-ordinator or overall manager of the team/company.
- 1 amazing admin like wasinee at RCB or nipha at APCICT
Wait a sec.. that sounds like APDIP http://www.apdip.net. Yeah it is, but it's by far the most successful project I've worked on, even with the usual work related problems. Though I believe with experience, I can identify and possily reduce these problems. Part of it also has to do with problems of bereaucracy, which won't affect something like Inigo.
It also does mean that eventually Inigo will need to add additional people, probably sometime in December when first large project is done. That will give me a better idea of what kind of people will be needed to fit in the places above, so that profits/revenue to people can scale exponentially and not linearly. The people also need to gell well together. So there wont' be any rush, we need to find the right people to avoid this problem: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=141935
Man.. it feels good to be alive again.
